Good God Father announcese a new performance concert date scheduled at Oregon City Records, on August 20, 2025. Doors open at 6pm, and the music starts at 7pm, with BarAbel, the high energy gritty hip hop act from Veneta, OR. Also taking the stage is the weirdo acoustic folk artist John Gold, and dark folk artist, Kerry Courtney. Tickets are avaiable for $10 at Oregon City Records, and online through Tixtree. The event comes about as one of the stops on John Gold’s tour promoting his most recent seventh full length album, Cadillac, on the runup to another bout of dates with the eXtreme Tour, and organization which Gold has been a part of for a good number of years.
The eXtreme Tour is a non-profit which hosts festival style events all over the world, John Gold and BarAbel themselves leading stops in the UK in the summer season of 2023. The three acts met in 2019 when Good God Father first joined the west coast leg of the tour, kindling an ongoing comradery and collaboration. This is the first time the line-up is going to be held outside the auspices of the eXtreme Tour, as an independent event.
BarAbel is a international touring artist from the Pacific Northwest who makes rap music with elements of metal to create a unique sound for the glory of his King. Good God Father has been hard at work in the studio crafting the remaining pieces of what will be their next full length release, I Pray You, an LP inception that goes back to the roots of what ignited the project. So far, from that release, there are five tracks that currently available for streaming on digital platforms; Waves, Prince of the Air, Wedding Supper of the Lamb, and Lord God An acoustic Demo track has also been published of another song called, Some People’s Children, which will be released in a full production with the release of the full length album. There is no date yet on that release, but demos are being compiled to be sent out to current Patreon subscribers.
Oregon City Records is a favored venue for the band, serving as a sort of home base for the band. A beautiful vintage storefront in the historic downtown district in Oregon City, makes for a very genuine and engaging venue for the band. A classic vinyl records store, there is a sense that the richness of life is still being preserved on the streets of Oregon City, the oldest incorporated city west of the Mississippi River.
Additionally, we’ve added to the line up, Kerry Courtney, a friend of John’s from Seattle, whose song, Sweetheart has an impressive 1.4 million streams. Kerry’s stripped down dark indie folk is sure to set the tone for the evening with his sultry vocals, and beautifully crafted song arrangements.
