Baptismal Fount

Hearing a worship session in passing, the words, “baptized in your fire”, Xwan caught a vision of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, facing the firing squad, and the thoughts that may have been racing through his mind at the time. So the song is about that moment of truth, and what you’re left with when all pretension superficiality is gone, and all you have is yourself, and your own mind.

Unholy
Recorded in 2006-07 in McMinnville, OR, originally released on the Masonic Weird *Manic and Self Medicated: The Plague EP. Part of the GGF Chronicles re-release, now available for streaming and download across most major digital distribution outlets.
Staying true to form for The Plague’s lyrical content, the song emphasizes the frantic, and paranoid elements of what could be pictured as a zombie apocalypse. To begin, the four song release was a response to a prophetic vision of seeing the world at large as suffering from a plague of the heart, which in today’s environment is proving to be too close to home, as what starts in the heart is made manifest in real life in the form of disease and corruption. This track then becomes a lamentation of the loss of all things good to be left with only profanity, and decay.
